Dylan: Not every voice assistant inquires about your lifestyle choices, yet they are instrumental in the growth of voice search marketing. In the U.S., approximately a quarter of adults possess at least one smart speaker, such as Google Home or Amazon Echo. Furthermore, roughly a third of web users leverage voice search on their mobile devices, emphasizing the importance of optimizing for voice search. Achieving this requires dedication and effort.
This video will guide you on leveraging voice search optimization to ensure your content is discoverable by voice assistants. Phone: Don’t go anywhere.
Voice search marketing involves optimizing your website to be discoverable by voice assistants such as Siri or Alexa when users make specific queries, like “Find hair salons near me” or “What’s the capital of Wyoming?” Achieving visibility in voice search results necessitates some optimization, known as voice search SEO. However, this process overlaps significantly with traditional SEO, so the additional work is manageable.
Here are some tips to optimize for voice searches:
1. Write like a person
Create content that mimics a conversation, considering how you would interact with a virtual assistant. Your website should use conversational language to compete for top voice search positions. When selecting voice search keywords, opt for those that sound like natural human speech.
2. Aim for the stars (in rankings)
Securing the top spot in search results is beneficial for your website, driving traffic and enhancing leads and sales. Similarly, in voice search marketing, approximately 41% of voice search results utilize featured snippets, also known as position zero. Optimizing for featured snippets involves formatting sections with questions and answers, creating lists, or utilizing comparison tables.
3. Update your contact information
Dylan: Book stores near me. Phone: Not until you finish the books you have. In 2017, “near me” searches on Google increased by 150%. Ensure your business profile is updated on platforms like Google, Bing, and Apple Maps to capture local voice search results.
4. Promote your content
A Backlinko study indicates that voice search results receive significant attention on social media. Share your optimized content on social media to increase visibility and drive traffic to your website.
5. Get to the point
People seek answers to their questions, not irrelevant information. According to a Backlinko study, the typical Google voice search result is only 29 words. Answer their questions concisely to master voice search SEO.
